Clay Catholic by Katharine Abrott Brady
Clay Catholic depicts a woman becoming “whole” through a series of artistic endeavors and the discovery of self. These mysterious adventures are connected via family, friends, and disjointed spiritual experiences. She realizes that the one constant in her life is her relationship with God. The story is told against the backdrop of sixty years as she matures from a young student at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic school into a young woman, a mother of five, and a career woman.

Ms. Brady tells a remarkable story which deepens as her quest unfolds. Fellow baby boomers will recognize the universal experiences of trying to find peace in a hectic world and fulfilling one’s dreams. The folk potter’s hands twist shapes of clay as the author continuously encounters personal struggles and victories throughout the creative process until an aged, slightly cracked, but beautiful patina appears in Clay Catholic.
