by Maxine McKeever Crain and Diane McKeever Maughan

Elsieís Seedless Pumpkin shares an endearing and amusing tale of one young girlís attempt to grow a gift for Motherís Day.

While her classmates all choose to grow watermelons, Elsie decides to plant a pumpkin seed. In a few days, all of the other plants have sprouted except for hers. She throws the seed away in the backyard and gives her mother a card instead.

Elsie learns an important lesson about faith and patience in the end, however, and Elsieís Seedless Pumpkin introduces the reader to the meaning of determination and individuality.
