Euphoria
by David Selvin

Euphoria is a political novel. It also examines the issues of art, human relationships, love, and power. Set in the small towns of Euphoria and Skagsville, it delves into the gap between wealth and poverty. The central theme of the book is the evolution and control of political will at Euphoria University. As such, it is an allegory about the abuse of power and the absurd relationships between the wielders of that power and those who labor beneath it. Euphoria is first and foremost, however, a love story.

About the Author

I was born in England and grew up in Norway.

My parents and I emigrated to the U.S. when I was a teenager. In college, I worked for the first Free-Form radio station. From there I began working at Pacifica Radio’s New York station, WBAI. After being appointed Pacifica’s Washington Bureau Chief, I covered the Senate’s Watergate hearings as well as the White House. I went on to produce news and documentaries for NPR, the CBC, and the BBC. Broadcasting Magazine named me “one of the top two documentary producers in the country.”

I later gave up radio to raise a son and daughter. As a virtually single parent, I began a career as an artist. My work was shown in U.S. embassies, the Corcoran, and the Italian Embassy, among other venues. Once the kids went to college, I also returned to earn a Masters in Education. I’ve taught in New York and England.

I am now a writer. My first novel, Bel Pre Murders, has already been published.
