This is a book about the life and times of a family raised up around Indians and people in southern Oklahoma around statehood. Times were a little slower before all the inventions of the mechanical age. All travel was by train or horseback. Lighting was by kerosene, and food had to be canned or eaten as soon as we got it, so we ate a lot of meat we killed that day or Mom would kill a chicken. Our church was the center of the community a place to go on Sunday or during the week to make quilts.

Our unique family from a unique valley will leave you intrigued. Settle back and learn about us.

I grew up on a little cattle ranch in southeastern Oklahoma. I went to Eastern A & M College and Panhandle A & M and worked in the cattle industry as a feed lot worker and at a monster packing company. I have two boys and two girls. All of them are married, and I have five granddaughters and two grandsons. I live with my wife of thirty-nine years and a little dog named Scooter. We live in Forgan, Oklahoma, and I am now retired.
