John Laughinghouse is an uplifting children’s story that follows one boy as he is faced with, and perseveres through difficult obstacles. Growing up on a farm in Indiana, John Laughinghouse is accustomed to playing outside, feeding the chickens, and helping his father. When his father brings home a new tractor, John can hardly contain his excitement. One day, John comes home to an empty house only to find his father pinned under the tractor in the backyard. Follow John through his trials as he helps out his family while his father recovers from this terrible accident.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Merlin Oliver was born on the beautiful island of Trinidad, West Indies. Ms. Merl, as she is affectionately called, is the mother of four daughters: Franka of Riverview, Florida; Beverlie and Carlene of Huntsville, Alabama; and Aver of Lithonia, Georgia. Her six wonderful grandchildren — Justin, Nylah, Imani, Stephen, Elliot, and Carl — as well as her life on the island and over forty years of nursing, have provided a constant supply of exciting, fun-filled stories for Ms. Merl’s Story Chest. Ms. Merl, who has lived in the U.S. since 1970, currently resides in Lithonia, Georgia, with her husband, Franklin. She enjoys traveling and would never turn down a good Trinidad mango.
