by Claribel Shideler
Kate is an outgoing little girl, one whose energy and curiosity are contagious. “Why?” she wants to know; “What for?” is another of this vivacious child’s favorite expressions.
When author Claribel Shideler would visit Kate’s family, she loved to watch her granddaugher interact with the world around her. And the more she thought about Kate’s friendly nature, the more she was convinced that her granddaughter could encourage other children to be less shy, make friends, and lead more active lives.
Based on an idea that has been on the author’s mind for ten years, My Name is Kate...What’s Yours? was written to encourage children to be interactive, to form lasting friendships, and to find their happiness in each other.
