Frank Dyer is a retiree from the Lima Engine Plant at Lima, Ohio, where he worked as a dynamometer operator and a gauge repairman. After thirty years of service, he took an early retirement in 1986.
In his younger days, he was an avid sportsman and bow-and-arrow hunter. In June 2003, he started hiking the Appalachian Trail in Virginia and conquered old Dragon Tooth Mountain.
