Private Pain
by Lillian Biango-Mends

The experiences we acquire as we travel on the continuum of life are to be used as testimonies to help others travel the crossroads in their lives. Therefore, they must be shared. This entry strives to highlight some of the obstacles and problems we encounter, positive or negative—how they can make or break us, how we look at them, how they can lead to suffering—and offer helpful spiritual tips on preventing or dealing with private pain. It is my prayer that, as you read, regardless of your age or stage of life, you or someone that you know may derive comfort and healing.

About The Author

Lillian Biango-Mends was born and raised in Sierra Leone, West Africa, and migrated to United States in 1971. A nurse by profession for twenty-six years, she and her husband founded Mends Compassionate Nursing Care Registry, Inc., a charity organization serving the home nursing-care needs of the uninsured and indigent persons in Miami Dade County. Biango-Mends is the author of Learning to Stuff the Stuff (March 19, 2001). She has been blessed with twenty-eight years of marriage, five children, and three living grandchildren (one deceased, an hour after birth, in her arms), with another on the way. She currently lives in Homestead, Florida.
