by Charlotte Rogers Moore
I’ve always been intrigued by children. They are the most uninhibited, unadulterated, the funniest, and the purest people on the planet. They never cease to amaze me—at any given moment.
This collection of poetry speaks to the relationship between parent and child. The introduction’s opening poem says, “The birth of a child marks a significant milestone in a person’s life. It changes the ‘me’ to ‘us.’” These poems addresses topics on self-esteem, pride, love, fulfillment, wisdom, discipline, optimism, security, and guidance, which can resonate with every reader.
This book, I hope, reflects the positive nature of children and their parents, as well as the bond that seals them together.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Charlotte Rogers Moore was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, although she spent her grade school and high school years in Philadelphia. She eventually returned to her hometown, where she was married and also raised eight children, all of who were inspirations for writing Welcome to My World. Ms. Moore’s children are all subjects of her book; their photographs are seen throughout, depicting memories of their younger years. Ms. Moore says she is “in love with music, dance, and life,” and her “nest hasn’t completely emptied yet—she still has three beaks left to feed.” Welcome to My World is her first published book.
